Kerry Brown is Professor of Chinese Studies and Director of the Lau China Institute at King’s College, London. He is an Associate of the Asia Pacific Programme at Chatham House, London. From 2012 to 2015 he was Professor of Chinese Politics and Director of the China Studies Centre at the University of Sydney, Australia. Prior to this he worked at Chatham House from 2006 to 2012, as Senior Fellow and then Head of the Asia Programme. From 1998 to 2005 he worked at the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, as First Secretary at the British Embassy in Beijing, and then as Head of the Indonesia, Philippine and East Timor Section. He previously graduated from Cambridge University and has a Ph D in Chinese politics and language from Leeds University. He is the author of almost 20 books on modern Chinese politics. He has recently been awarded the China Cultural Exchange Person of the Year.

Dr Linda Yueh is Fellow in Economics, St Edmund Hall, Oxford University and Adjunct Professor of Economics, London Business School. She is also Visiting Professor at LSE IDEAS and Chair of the LSE Economic Diplomacy Commission. Her latest book, The Great Economists: How Their Ideas Can Help Us Today, was The Times’s Best Business Books of the Year, and Newsweek magazine’s Best Books of the Year.

Outside of her immediate responsibilities, She is on the board of Country Group Development PCL and United Hampshire REIT.  In addition, she is also Forbes Asia’s Power Business Women 2019 and Prestige Women of Power 2022.

Philip Barrett is a managing director at PGIM Real Estate and global head of business and investment operations. Based in London, Philip is responsible for the  day-to-day management of fund operations, fund tax, operational and investment risk, valuations, and facilities management and business interaction with the compliance and finance functions globally for PGIM Real Estate Investors, a third-party fiduciary investment management with USD207 billion in assets under management and administration as of 30 June 2022 in the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

Martin Brühl is a member of the Management Board of Union Investment Real Estate GmbH headquartered in Hamburg. In his role as Chief Investment Officer he is responsible for investment management across 25 national markets. His business unit is organised by world regions for office investments, supported by expert teams for the retail, residential, hotel and logistics sectors.

Equipped with a German banking diploma and a degree in real estate valuation and finance from City University Business School, London, Martin looks back on more than 30 years of real estate industry experience. Prior to joining Union Investment in 2013 he worked for DTZ, Arthur Andersen and Cushman & Wakefield. During his career, Martin has held a number of honorary positions including that of President of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS, 2015–2016) and Chairman of the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE, 2019–2021).

Mark Chamieh is a managing director at PGIM Real Estate and global head of Business Development for PGIM’s real estate and private equity businesses. Mark is based in London.

PGIM Real Estate is one of the largest real estate investment managers in the world, offering a broad range of real estate equity, real estate debt, agriculture and impact strategies globally. Mark is a member of PGIM Real Estate’s Global Management Council, the Global Investment Committee, the Global Operating Council and the Global Product Committee.

Mark also leads the coordination of client relationship management and business development between PGIM and Montana Capital Partners (mcp) –a USD3 billion Swiss-based secondaries private equity manager focused on the small and mid-cap market in the United States, Europe and Asia Pacific. Previously, Mark served as managing director and global head of equity capital markets for JER Partners, responsible for building and managing JER’s capital markets team, while overseeing global investor relations and capital raising activities.

Earlier, Mark led global business development as a managing director at UBS Global Asset Management in London, where he was a member of its Global Real Estate Management Committee.Mark also held positions in institutional capital raising and sales for several major firms including Lend Lease and JP Morgan Chase working in Bahrain, London and New York.

Mark has a bachelor’s degree in politics and social policy from the University of Newcastle.

Fiona serves as Head of Investment for Europe, having previously held the position of Head of Business Development for Europe. Fiona joined Kennedy Wilson Europe in 2012 and brings over 20 years of experience in real estate investments and real estate capital markets. During her time at Kennedy Wilson, she has been focused on leading our European acquisitions efforts as we grew our European business and our capital markets activities.

Previously, Fiona worked at Goldman Sachs for 12 years and Deutsche Bank across structured finance, infrastructure and real estate finance. Fiona holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Operational Research from Strathclyde University in Glasgow and a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from University of Mumbai.

Stuart is Co-Founder of CoreLife Investors, adviser to Brookfield’s Real Estate Group, CEO of Harwell Campus and Arlington and has more than 25 years of real estate experience.

Stuart began his career in Asia-Pacific as an International Executive with Jardine Matheson Ltd. before starting his real estate investment career at Blackstone in London and Hong Kong. During his 18 years at Blackstone, he held a variety of leadership positions playing a key role in building Blackstone’s Real Estate business in the region including overseeing more than USD20 billion of investments in Greater China, India, Singapore, Japan, Korea and Australia.

Richard overseas the ESG platform across the European and Asia Pacific regions. Richard develops and coordinates the integration of ESG strategy across the investment management process, and advises fund and asset management teams on managing ESG risks and capitalising on opportunities within their portfolios. Richard is also a member of Nuveen Real Estate’s Investment Committee.

As part of the Strategic Insights team, Richard works alongside the organisation’s global research, proptech and innovation functions. His role includes driving Nuveen Real Estate’s Tomorrow’s World Strategy which helps future proof the investment strategy in light of global megatrends and integrates ESG across fund and asset management. Since joining the firm in 2015, Richard has supported the organization setting a target to achieve Net Zero Carbon by 2040. This commitment responds to and supports the ambitious goals for sustainable real estate established at the 21st annual Conference of Parties (COP21) held in Paris in September 2015. He also supports the organisation to develop investment guidelines related to physical and transition climate change risk, as set out in the Taskforce on Climate Related Financial Disclosure Framework.

Prior to joining Nuveen Real Estate in 2015, Richard was at Land Securities, responsible for energy management across office, retail and leisure portfolios. Prior to that, he was at the Institute for Sustainability where he managed a European-wide Responsible Property Investment programme.

Alanna Hasek advises on all aspects of real estate transactions with particular focus on investment acquisitions and disposals, big ticket leasing transactions and corporate structured real estate work. In addition to the traditional areas of real estate, she has strong credentials in alternative asset classes such as data centres, student accommodation and film studios.

Alanna qualified as a solicitor in 2010 and was recognised by the City of London Solicitors' Company as the trainee solicitor showing most promise in 2010.

Alanna is co-chair of DLA’s UK Leadership Alliance for Women, a network designed to strengthen the leadership and influence of women and was recently recognized by the Estates Gazette as a Future Female Leader. She actively looks for ways to use technology to streamline real estate deals and a transaction she led won the Real Estate Team of the Year in the Legal Business Awards 2018 for its innovative use of technology.

Alexandre Heriard-Dubreuil is based in London. Alexandre joined Groupe Arnault/LVMH and eventually L Real Estate in November 2008 and is serving as the Chief Investment Officer of L Catterton Real Estate. Alexandre has over 16 years of real estate investment and management experience globally.

Prior to joining L Real Estate, Alexandre was a Director in the Global Principal Investments group of Merrill Lynch based simultaneously in Paris and London. During his eight years at Merrill Lynch, Alexandre worked on transactions in various roles in Acquisition, Financing and Asset Management.

Alexandre holds a Master's degree (Engineer Diploma) from l'Ecole Spéciale des Travaux Publics (ESTP), a leading French civil engineering school.

Paul Hicks is a Senior Acquisition and Development Manager at CyrusOne. Based in London, Paul is responsible for the origination and implementation of new investments and development schemes in Europe for CyrusOne, a global data centre developer and operator with assets in the US, UK, Germany, France, Ireland and the Netherlands.

Paul is a Chartered Surveyor and previously held Capital Market roles at CBRE and Matthews & Goodman.

Justin Hildebrandt serves as Executive Managing Director, Head of Europe, for USAA Real Estate where he is responsible for overseeing European operations and investments, including fund management and joint venture relationships.  Justin is actively involved in USAA Real Estate’s pan-European logistics joint venture, Mountpark Logistics EU Sarl, and its majority ownership of the Mountpark Logistics development company, where he previously served as its CEO and continues to be on the Board of Directors.  In addition to the logistics businesses, Justin leads USAA Real Estate’s growing investment activities in European purpose-built rental housing, data centers, and credit.

Prior to moving to Europe in 2016, Justin oversaw equity and credit investment activity for USAA Real Estate in the Pacific Northwest of the US based in San Francisco.  Prior to joining USAA Real Estate in 2011, Justin was Vice President at Bentall Kennedy.

Justin received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley. Justin is a member of the European Logistics Forum, Young President’s Organization, and is a past Director of The Guardsmen, an all-volunteer organization that provides access to high-quality educational and outdoor activities for inner-city youth in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Prior to edyn, eric founded BridgePoint Ventures and Union Hanover Securities (UHS). BridgePoint was a boutique real estate firm that specialized in providing equity for middle-market property development. UHS was a sector agnostic real estate development firm with £1bn of development across North America and Europe.   

Whilst at UHS, Eric co-founded Urban Villa, Europe’s first boutique extended stay experience, forming the foundations of what is today recognized as the pioneering lifestyle aparthotel brand Locke. Eric is also the co-founder of Birch.   

Eric now serves as edyn’s Chief Development Officer and Creative Director, leading a Pan-European multi-disciplinary team managing acquisitions, asset management, construction, design, investment finance and planning.  

Paul is based in the London office and has experience in all aspects of commercial real estate, with particular emphasis on investment and corporate occupier work. He advises a wide range of clients on their real estate transactions and strategy and often leads multi practice teams of lawyers on complex deals. Paul is heavily involved in cross border work in the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pac.

Paul has a special interest in sustainability in the built environment and disruption in the real estate industry. He leads DLA Piper's Green Real Estate team, innovating and developing suites of documentation and best practice in this dynamic area, including the creation of a UK Green Lease and advising both investors and occupiers on their sustainability strategy.

Paul is the client relationship partner for Unicef UK.

Paul has been at the forefront of developing DLA Piper's work involving business from Israel. He acts for many clients based in Israel as they embark on diverse business opportunities around the world. Paul manages the relationship with several Israeli clients in relation to their global business and also assists clients from outside of Israel looking for partners or advisers in Israel.

Vivienne King is the Head of Real Estate at The Good Economy. She has over 30 years’ leadership experience in the real estate industry. The former CEO of Revo, the membership organisation for the retail property market during the tumultuous markets of 2020 and CEO of Soho Housing Association, a boutique housing provider in London’s West End, and commercial property investor Soho Ltd. Vivienne was over 20 years in senior management at the Crown Estate with a wide range of transactional, strategy and operating leadership responsibilities including ESG, positioning the Crown in the vanguard of the evolution of ESG in the built environment. Vivienne also co-founded Real Estate Balance, the leading DEI membership organization in real estate.

Brian Klinksiek is LaSalle's Global Head of Research and Strategy and is responsible for our global strategic outlook. He manages the global Research and Strategy team, oversees the firm's investment risk management and climate strategy functions, and is editor-in-chief of LaSalle's Insights, Strategy and Analysis (ISA) thought leadership suite. He works closely with the firm's global clients and portfolio managers in developing and implementing comprehensive, integrated global investment strategies. Brian also leads the expansion and enhancement of LaSalle's global analytical tools and supports the firm's capital raising and investor relations activities.

Before his elevation to the global role at the beginning of 2023, Brian was head of LaSalle's European Research and Strategy team for two years. Prior to that, Mr. Klinksiek held various research and strategy leadership roles at Heitman, with diverse experience across a wide range of markets and property sectors in Europe, North America and Asia, having been based in Hong Kong, London and Chicago.

Brian holds a BA with honors and distinction from Stanford University, and an MBA with high honors from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, serving on the Global Exchange Council. He is a dual US and UK national.

Oliver is the Director of Real Estate at Carbon Intelligence, now part of Accenture and is a member of the executive team. Oliver is focused on accelerating a zero-carbon economy for real assets and has helped implement exciting net-zero strategies over the past ten years. Decarbonisation programmes have included initiating a smart building programme that won over 15 awards in 24 months and supporting around GBP150B of real estate AUM. 

Oliver sits on the AREF ESG committee and the IIGCC real estate working group and supports other BBP REEB, GRESB, and UK-GBC initiatives. Oliver’s work on the Sustainable Disclosure Regulation and other critical industry issues led him to be nominated for the AREF outstanding contribution award in 2022.

Oliver is completing an executive MBA at Bayes (formerly CASS) and has a master’s in environmental management.

David Matheson is a Managing Director and Head of Real Estate, Europe, at Starwood Capital Group. Mr. Matheson is responsible for the Firm’s real estate investments and real estate asset management across Europe. He is a member of Starwood’s Investment Committee.

Previously, Mr. Matheson was an Executive Vice President at Oxford Properties Group, where he was a member of their Executive Committee and Investment Committee. Mr. Matheson spent eight years at Oxford, leading investment and development activity across Europe and Asia Pacific. In this time he completed transactions totalling over USD20 billion and was responsible for leading the firm into new markets and sectors in Europe and Asia, such as built-to-rent residential and logistics. David also sits on the Board of ESR, the leading Asia-focused logistics real estate platform.

Prior to his time at Oxford, David spent over a decade in European investment banking, most recently at Goldman Sachs, completing over USD10 billion in transactions across M&A, equity and debt capital markets.

Mr. Matheson received a B.A. degree in Modern Languages (Honours) from Oxford University.

Vincent started his career in Real Estate 15 years ago, working for a developer, and the estate private equity firm Colony Capital. In 2013, Vincent stepped into operations as opening General Manager of the Molitor, a landmark Parisian olympic swimming pool turned into a lifestyle 5-star hotel. Vincent Joined AXA-IM in 2018, as Head of Hospitality, and is now in charge of asset management for all Living asset classes.

Paul Mortlock is a Senior Director and Head of European Data Centre Capital Markets at CBRE. He is an investment specialist with more than 15 years of experience, the last 5 being in data centres. Paul acts exclusively on data centre M&A, sale and leaseback and investment transactions on behalf of both domestic and international investors. Paul specialises in coordinating large M&A advisory projects, together with investment acquisitions and disposals, and preparing complex commercial due diligence reports.

Marc Mozzi is a managing director in Global Equity Research and head of the EMEA real estate team. He ranked #2 in 2020 in the Institutional Investor All-Europe Research Poll. He was ranked #3 and #4 real estate analyst in 2017 and 2018, and was overall #1 Stock Picker in the UK and Ireland in the 2010 StarMine Award. Prior to joining BofA in 2019, Mozzi was with Société Générale for 11 years, where he covered a number of real estate companies invested in offices, retail, residential, industrial, logistics and self-storage, in the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Belgium. He contributed to a significant and sustained improvement in the team’s ranking, which was consistently placed in the top five real estate research teams in Europe in the Extel Survey. Huw joined Ark in November 2012 as Chief Executive to lead a new Management Team following the recapitalisation of the company. He ahs held key roles at a number of organisations, including BT Global Services and HP Defence and Security. Other roles in his extensive career include Chief Executive of the Atlas Consortium, delivering the Ministry of Defence DII(Defence Information Infrastructure) programme.

Huw also worked for the Asia Foundation, formulating and driving national reform programmes in Cambodia, as well as advising the United Nations on their efforts in Central Asia. Before this, he served with the Royal Hong Kong Police Force, latterly as a Detective Inspector.

Joanne Owen has extensive experience within the real estate market both nationally and internationally dealing with complex cross-border real estate transactions.

Joanne acts for a range of institutional investors and regularly acts for private equity sponsors and asset managers working across the entire real estate sector. Joanne has particular experience leading multi-practice teams on transactions relating to hotels and leisure related, structured corporate platforms, student housing, co-living, residential PRS, logistics, retail and office schemes.

Based in Montreal, Canada, Martine is a seasoned senior executive with nearly four (4) decades of Real Estate and Global Asset Management experience, for which she is still passionate about.

She currently serves as Board Member at Groupe Novatech and Urban Development Institute of Quebec (UDI) and as Strategy Consultant for International Real Estate Investors.

Previously, she acted as Senior Vice President Global Asset Management at Ivanhoé Cambridge, the real estate chapter of pension fund manager Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. As SVP, she overlooked Partnerships, Investment and Real Estate Asset Management of a CAD $69bn portfolio accompanied by teams operating from Canada, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Moreover, she was a member of the Executive Committee, Chair of the Global Asset Management Committee and a member of the Internal Investment Committee. Throughout her mandate, she was a key initiator for the implementation of ESG initiatives as part of value creation and Digital transformation.

Prior to this role, she was SVP Asset Management of the CAD $16bn Residential portfolio, located mostly in the USA and the UK. Over the last twenty (20) years at Ivanhoé Cambridge, she occupied various leadership positions playing a key role in building the company’s growth and developing strong relations with the operating partners and fund managers.

Martine began her career in Project Management of development projects; mostly master planned communities and housing, which were either for rent or for sale, and Senior Living. 

Martine holds a postgraduate diploma from HEC-Montreal (DSA/MBA program), a Bachelors in Urban Planning from Université de Montréal and a Directors Education Program Certificate from McGill University. In addition, she is member of the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors and Canadian Institute of Planners. 

Martine is involved in various nonprofit boards and caritative activities. Furthermore, she is a lecturer at Université de Montréal in the course of the M.Sc. International Project Management program.

Kari Pitkin is the Head of Business Development for Europe of Allianz Real Estate, which includes leading the sector specific teams for logistics and retail as well as cross border acquisitions. Based in London, she joined the company in 2019 and has over 20 years of EMEA Investment Banking experience. Kari is responsible for driving origination and partner management for more complex cross-border equity deals on a Pan European basis. Prior to joining Allianz, she was Head of EMEA Real Estate & Lodging at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, having joined the firm in 2005. Kari holds a bachelor degrees in Economics and Sociology from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the Darden School of Business in Charlottesville.

Catherine Pogorzelski advises fund managers and investors on the structuring and formation of and investment into alternative investment funds, particularly within the private equity, real estate and debt funds sectors.

Catherine's practice also includes assisting clients in connection with funds and general regulatory matters, general corporate law and in particular transactional work relating to investment funds and investment management related financial services.

Jack is an Associate Investor at Undivided Ventures, a VC investing in startups solving complex sustainability challenges for the built environment. As a Charted Building Services Engineer, he has worked in sustainability and construction engineering roles for the last 14 years. His experience includes stints at global engineering consulting firms and as founder of EcoBuild Advisory - a sustainability consulting practice that specialise in decarbonisation of building assets.

Debbie is an urbanist with 20+ years’ professional experience, working with and connecting businesses, government and people to unlock better city-making at all scales.

She joined the developer and investor Fabrix in February 2022 and leads on the company’s contribution to enhancing urban environments and strengthening its position as London’s most progressive developer.

Prior to Fabrix, she was part of the team that launched New London Architecture in 2005 and played an instrumental role over 16 years establishing the organisation as the pre-eminent centre for debate about London’s built environment. She became its first director in 2010 and managing director in 2019, overseeing the growth of NLA’s unrivalled public and private sector network of over 500 membership organisations.

She is passionate about shaping better cities for all and tackling the lack of diversity across the industry, as well as the significant decline of public trust in development. She sat on the Mayor’s Fund’s Built Environment Steering Group – focussed on making the industry more inclusive to young Londoners from low socio-economic backgrounds – and is one of Mentoring Circle’s mentors, supporting younger women in the industry.

She has been heavily involved in the London Festival of Architecture since its inception in 2004 – the annual public celebration of the city which aims to democratise the conversation about architecture and bring it to the widest possible audience – and is also a Critical Friend to the arts charity UP Projects.

Mark is one of the cofounders of RivingtonHark, focusing on strategic master planning, stakeholder engagement, investment and funding. He was non-exec Chair of the Government Retail Property Taskforce from 2012 to 2014 and President of Revo in 2018.

James Wong is the Executive Director of the Chinney Group. The Group’s four publicly listed Hong Kong subsidiaries: Hon Kwok Land (0160.hk), Chinney Investments (0216.hk), Chinney Alliance (0385.hk), and Chinney Kin Wing (1556.hk) are focused on high-tech Engineering and Real Estate. The businesses range from building their own 80-storey Hon Kwok Tower in Shenzhen to developing and operating Hong Kong’s largest data center to installing the air traffic control radar at the Hong Kong Airport. This 2900+ person family business was founded by his great grandfather in Nanjing in the 1920’s to build China’s railway system.

He split his childhood between the US, Canada, and Hong Kong. After graduating from the University of Washington, he went on to earn a master’s degree from the Florida Institute of Technology in Information Systems Engineering as well as a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of Law. He is a Phi Kappa Phi member and an advocate for Lifelong Learning. Professionally, he is a member of the California Bar as well as a licensed California Real Estate Broker. He is also a LEED Green Associate and Well AP.

Before joining his family business in 2010, James held positions variously as a lawyer on Toyota’s eDiscovery team in Torrance, California, and as a tax lawyer at Baker and McKenzie (Los Angeles/Hong Kong) and Price Waterhouse Coopers (San Francisco).

He served as a delegate to the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference for Jiangsu Province until 2018. In addition, he serves on the Board of Trustees of the Florida Institute of Technology (otherwise called NASA U) where he is also an adjunct professor teaching Business and Healthcare Law and was the 2018 Outstanding Alumni Award winner. Currently he serves as a Global Governing Trustee for the Urban Land Institute, as well as on the International Advisory Board of the Essec Business School in Paris. He is one of the founders of the Seattle I-District Asian Street Fair (now in its 35th Season) and created Seattle’s first-ever Computer Dating Dance in 1983. His MENSA membership dates from 1980. He has published and spoken widely on subjects including eDiscovery, Social Media Policy in the workplace, China for newbies, and more recently, China and the One Belt One Road Initiative.
