Thomas M. Flexner

Thomas M. Flexner is Citigroup Global Head of Real Estate, a member of the Management Committee of Citi’s Institutional Clients Group and a member of the Executive Committee of Citi’s Global Corporate and Investment Bank. He is responsible for directing worldwide commercial real estate activities across Investment Banking, Commercial Mortgage Finance and Real Estate Private Equity.
Prior to joining Citi, Mr. Flexner was Vice Chairman of Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. and Chairman of its Global Industries Group. He also founded and managed the Commercial Mortgage and the Real Estate, Gaming and Lodging groups at Bear Stearns. During the past two years, Mr. Flexner has worked with various governmental bodies including the Fed, the US Treasury and the President’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board to provide insight and advice on addressing the state of the US commercial real estate economy.
Mr. Flexner is on the board of the Real Estate Roundtable, is actively involved in numerous other industry organizations and has advised a number of endowments on their real estate investing strategies. He is on the Board of Overseers of the Amos Tuck School of Business, a member of the Directors’ Council of Rockefeller University, a Trustee of the Museum of the City of New York and of the Dutchess Land Conservancy and a member of the Trinity Church Vestry in New York.
Mr. Flexner is a graduate of Rhodes College and the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
